Cēsu Premium is the leading beer brand in the product portfolio of Cēsu alus. This is also the first contemporary beer brand of the brewery, created in 2001. Its brand development has been the most financially supported over these years.

Cēsu Premium is a revolutionary product in the beer market. Alongside its brand creation in the beer beverage segment, several essential innovations have been implemented. Cēsu Premium, with its stylish and foreign-sounding name, was one of the first beer brands in Latvia to shape society’s perception of beer. It was no longer seen only as a traditional and ancient beverage, but also as a modern lifestyle component. Cēsu Premium is also a pioneer in the can market – the most popular beer brand in this packaging, for several years also receiving the acknowledgment of consumers with the prize Product of the Year. Cēsu Premium was the first beer brand with Cēsu alus’s innovative solution – a foil cap on cans.

This year Cēsu alus has expanded its brand line by creating the beer brandCēsu Premium Amber. It is an amber-coloured beer from an especially roast malt. The beer has a darker colour and the flavour of caramel malt. The flavour and aroma bouquet is composed and enriched with the aromatic hops used in beer brewing.

“Cēsu Premium Amber is made for beer lovers, who recognise and respect the fullness of the traditional Latvian beer flavour. It is a masterpiece of beer brewing, providing an excellent pleasure of taste. This beer has to be enjoyed slowly in order to taste all the nuances of flavour and aroma. Cēsu Premium Amber can be classified as an old style representative of the beer segment, having flavour nuances that appear in the slow beer brewing process,” says leading beer master Māris Grambergs.

Although the can packaging has become more and more favoured in recent years, beer in glass bottles has always been popular, with 25% market share in the total packaging segment of the Latvian beer market in 2012. Last year, in order to develop the glass bottle segment and improve one of the most sustainable beer brands in Latvia – Cēsu Premium ¬– Cēsu alus introduced a unique beer packaging – a pint-size glass bottle. As the good sales results show, this beer packaging is favoured in Latvia – in 2012 more than one million litres of beer in pint bottles were sold (Cēsu Premium andCēsu Porteris). In total, the Cēsu Premium brand had 14% market share in the highly qualitative – can and glass bottle – segment in 2012.

Cēsu Premium Amber is filled in a pint-size glass bottle. Its design expresses the performance of beer taste and brand values – premium quality and uniqueness, similar to the variety of amber found only at the Latvian seaside. Total investment in expanding the Cēsu Premium brand and creating a new beer brand amounts to 20 000 lats.

The new Cēsu Premium Amber beer brand is available on the market this week. We plan to sell a million Cēsu Premium Amber bottles this year.

A standard pint – 0.568 l (imperial pint) is a measure of capacity in Great Britain and Ireland, which is still used as a primary unit of measure for beer, cider and milk. Since 2009, when Cēsu alus introduced the Cēsu Premium pint-size can and since 2012 also the pint-size bottle, the pint-size packaging of beer has been available also in Latvia.
