The Latvian beer market is distinguished by a strong segment of traditional beer brands – beer lovers appreciate the recognizable taste and high quality. Developing the popular Latvian traditional beer market, the Brūža beer brand is undergoing significant changes this season. Expanding the Brūža assortment, beer lovers are offered two new types of beer: Brūža Rudzugraudu and Brūža Oriģinālais. Brūža beer will be bottled in reusable 0.5 litre BBH glass bottles, and the new label design will be decorated with the signature of our head brewer Māris Grambergs.

Investments of EUR 25 000 have been made in the development of the Brūža brand and in the creation of new flavours.

Brūža Rudzugraudu is a dark beer brewed from rye kvass malt, which gives the beer a favourite kvass taste with a light hop note. Brūža Oriģinālais is a lager-type beer; the strength of its flavour is given by the interaction of four varieties of malt with classic European hops.

Eva Sietiņsone, Chairman of the Board of Cēsu alus: “Based on the research data of the beer market and the Brūža brand, we decided to advance the Brūža beer line by developing a new design and offering new flavours. Our head brewer Māris Grambergs has been working on new beer varieties to expand the range for beer lovers. We have received excellent reviews and feedback on both Brūža Rudzugraudu and Brūža Oriģinālais beer.

In order to preserve natural resources, our aim is to increase the share of reusable glass bottles, therefore we have stopped using the special design bottles for Brūža line. Already, both beer lovers and buyers can deliver the reusable bottles to collection points, and this will be especially convenient next year, when the deposit-return system starts operating. In line with the new bottles, we have also renewed the design of Brūža beer labels, making it more contemporary and more consistent with the trends of traditional beer.”

Brūža beer line is series of traditional beer varieties specially created by Māris Grambergs, the head brewer at Cēsu alus. The line consists of four beers: Samtainais (Velvety), Nefiltrētais (Unfiltered), Rudzugraudu (Rye Grain) and Oriģinālais (Original). Brūža beer in new design bottles is already available at points of sale.
